"Elyse, thanks so much for setting me up on the restart program. I've been drinking one shake a day and somedays, when I need a quick snack, I eat a bar. I've been following the weight watcher points programas well. As you know, I've done weight watcher on and off for over 10 years now. After haveing my second child and starting the business, I really struggled getting those last pounds off. Finding less time to exercise, not being prepared on busy days and getting older have been just a few issues I found to be my biggest challenges. With restart, I always have an easy meal at my side. I never feel starved (when I am starving I tend to binge on the wrong snacks!). I've lost 8 pounds after about 3 weeks. I feel more energetic and balanced.
I'm still not able to exercise the way I did in the past. My goals are 3 days a week, even if it's just for 30 minutes.

"I still consider myself 'new' to running and hence I am still learning and working on being more consistent about cross- and strength training. As a result of my naivete, I've created various problems for myself. One of my running coaches referred me to Jill & I am SO glad she did! Jill is an amazing deep tissue masseuse! If you have never had a deep tissue massage, it is intense! Jill has a knack for finding "knots" and working them out; it's a "good" kind of hurt, which allows my body to recover & heal from training. Jill is incredibly respectful, professional, and warm. All my running buddies have heard me rave about Jill and how much I love going to her! I feel fortunate our paths crossed and I thank her for keeping my on the road!"

"The massages were great because you were able to take a look at my hips and see that my problem was not with my calves and solias (I know that is spelled wrong), but with my hips tilting forward due to tight quads. After getting my hips back where they were needed to be and releasing my quad muscle tightness, my calves were better and I was able to run huge hills like they were nothing. The post marathon massage was a complete necessity. If you do nothing else, at least get a post race massage. I could barely walk until after my massage. After that, I was able to start walking (and running) again. It is very important to get rid of that built up lactic acid in the legs. Stretching helps, but not as much as a deep massage. I also had so much fun talking to you and comparing training and race day stories."

"I signed up for the marathon package, from Venus, while training for the Flying Pig half marathon.It was a very wise decision. During my training I had some issues with my IT band which Jill Durr worked on each week. Without this weekly treatment I am sure I would have had a serious problem and might not have been able to run at all. Venus is a great place for fitness training and massage. I intend to continue going even now that the race is over. As women, we all need to take better care of ourselves and Venus is the place to start"

"I injured my gastrocnemus muscle in my right calf. It sure felt more like a tear than a strain. I had scheduled an appointment for the day after the pig months in advance, thinking it would be a nice way to reward my body for taking on such a feat. Instead, we used some of that session to concentrate on the area of the leg just above the injury. Jill told me a story about when her husband (a firefighter) had an injury to his ankle, she massaged the area to help the circulation. It healed in half the time. Hearing this I scheduled another session to concentrate solely on my injury. Today is day 6 since my injury, I am able to walk heal to toe, still with some effort and can't push off, but I have seen big improvements with each day. The gals at Venus also suggested some soothing lemon ginger tea, which helps with the inflammation that goes along with this type of injury, and indeed coupled with the rest of my to-do list, I am improving rapidly."

"Elyse - I am so happy with my progress in Boot Camp. As you know I started out in the beginners class, twice a week. After just a few months I am strong enough to work out 4 days a week at both the beginners and advanced boot camp. I never thought I would be doing the things I am doing in your classes. I feel strong and healthy. And after sitting behind a desk for well over 7 years, these are two things that I haven’t felt in a very long time. Thank you too for introducing me to Usana. I used to get sick at the slightest amount of stress or exposure to colds. Having a 2 year old means that I get exposed to a lot of colds and viruses but since taking the Healthpack vitamins I really don’t get sick anymore.
